The Cadwallader Award is presented annually by District 5650, Rotary International, in honor of a great Rotarian, Charles N. Cadwallader, who during his lifetime served as President of the Rotary Club of Lincoln (Club #14), as District Governor, Director of Rotary International, and who was the sponsor of 11 clubs in District 5650. The Award is presented to a Rotarian in District 5650 who has made a monumental contribution in one or all of the Four Avenues of Rotary service: Community, International, Vocational, and Club. The Award is endowed by a gift of Charles N. and Ruth Cadwallader.

Robert W. Knox is a third generation Council Bluffs Rotarian. Both his Father (William P.) and Grandfather (Painter) were Rotarians for 35 years. Robert remembers attending Rotary meetings as a very young man and shares many wonderful stories of those times. Robert himself has been a Rotarian for 45 years.

Robert and wife Kathryn have been married for 25 years and travel extensively; often attending Rotary clubs. A three-time recipient of the Theater Arts Guild Award, and an Elder of the New Horizon Presbyterian Church, Robert exemplifies the Four Avenues of Rotary Service.
